Stepping Out of the Ego Box
I came to this earth with a purpose. But what exactly is my purpose? That is the “BIG” question isn’t it? Earlier in my life I thought it was to get an education, a good job, find love and a mate, a house, a car, a boat, and to conquer endless professional challenges. So rudimentary and so meaningless!! Going in circles and repeating the same mistakes again and again until one day life slapped me upside my head so hard that I heard a small still voice say “there is more to you than the flesh and blood that you see in the mirror. Go seek the truth”. This was monumental, incredible, unbelievable, and a Holy Cow God is real moment. Wait a minute if this is unbelievable then why was this so profound? Hence here was a single thought so profound that my heart opened and faith and love flooded the gate. My entire perspective changed and everything that was important to me suddenly took back seat. So with open eyes and open heart I started my quest to find the soul. Not just any soul … my soul.
The best part of an awakening is that when you let go God does take the wheel. With blessed divine love God made use of my passion for reading and showered me with books and internet sites. As words are things, my heart started soul school. Soon books became less enticing and my desire to learn more now included physical contact with those who are the “Guru” of spiritual teaching and awareness. I paraded any and all seminars I could find within my monetary means and physical location. Like a wilted flower, actual live contact with spiritual teachers like Dr. Wayne Dyer, Sylvia Browne, Caroline Myss to name a few, started me to stand taller and taller and walk up the ladder higher and higher. And I found that the highly charged atmosphere of these conferences opened new doors to meet like minded people some of whom are dear friends of mine today.
Most profoundly, the sacred world I entered during these events actually brought a miracle to me. Such a profound change to my life that I frequently pray gratitude for such grace given by God. Perhaps I shall write about this another day. After a few years of seminars, I decided that I had topped out on the enlightenment I was receiving and that I needed to find a teacher. One who can coach me on a one to one platform. Through a series of synchronicities my mentor came to me. Know this to be LAW … there are no coincidences! All is for divine purpose.
My mentor is an extremely talented spiritual coach and intuitive. She has been instrumental in identifying my hidden talents. Through her gifts she has shown me that connecting to your spiritual self comes from embracing creative activities such as painting, photography and yes writing. She has lovingly encouraged me to get out of my analytical left brain and jump to the creative right side. Not an easy jump for a scientist by trade. But, as you are reading this, apparently she has been very effective in her teachings.
Well, maybe it is not all that black and white. My last what I call “homework” assignment is to write this article. I thought sure why not, I seem to be good with words. This will be easy. NOT! As with everything in the divine realm, there is often a twist to something that seems so simple. I started fretting over writing this article which is very likely going to get posted for all to see on the internet. Oh my! What am I going to write about? What will people think? What if they do not like my article? What if my coach does not like it? And on and on …..
As a result of my worry, I have spent an entire week tackling this essay. Today, frustrated to the bone that nothing was coming forth, I rolled back my memory tape, prayed and re-embraced the part about giving it to God. I remembered from a lecture by Christina Lunden that “FEAR” equals “False Evidence Appearing Real” and all this week’s worry was hidden EGO that needed addressing. And another AHHH HAAA hits me … who cares what someone will think about my article? These words I am writing are a honest heart felt expression of my spiritual insight to what is important to me. What others think belongs to them not me. WOW! When this came to me, I immediately stepped out of the Ego Box and all these words came flooding out with ease to share with you, the reader. Truly, my coach is a genius as I am sure this was her intent. With all this said, I hope that this article helps all that read it to dissolve fear and step out of the box and create today. Even a small crack in the box will let God in and miracles to come to you. And yes your soul comes forth when you let go and let God in.
I pray that this BLOG is a blessing to all. And last but not least, as my dear departed Dad said to me often … “No Guts, No Glory”. Step out of your Ego Box today!
